He is truly the embodiment of some of the most selective Connemara Pony breeding in the World.
Boasting a pedigree of award-winning, imported English and Irish sires and dams, Willow Boy
encapsulates the attributes of simply the finest ponies found throughout the Emerald Isles. Not only is
his sire, the late, *Chiltern Colm, an American Connemara Pony Society TOOREEN LADDIE AWARD
RECIPIENT for a lifetime of positive breed influence but he carries on the Thunderbolt name through
his dam. Willow Boy's paternal grandsire, Corrib was awarded PREMIUM STALLION status by the
English Connemara Pony Society (ECPS) as was Island Duke.
Three of the first four generations of mares in Willow Boy's pedigree were awarded the selective and
extremely prestigious SUPER PREMIUM MARE status by the ECPS. They are: Chiltern Gazelle (dam
of Chiltern Colm); Artic Moon (dam of Chiltern Gazelle); and Errisbeg Rose (daughter of MacDara).
This blend of Irish and English breeding with such prestigious ponies so "close-up" in a pedigree is
indeed a rarity.
